About Us

We are a family-run company, founded in October 2016.

My name is Max Pichler and I come from Austria. Since my wife Faresa is Panamanian, and this beautiful country in Central America has become our shared home, we decided to found our own company "BIS BALD TOURS" here in Panama.

Whether cycling around the world alone in a year, cruising through the Caribbean with Faresa, or hitchhiking across Morocco, we have always felt the need for responsible tourism and have always followed three simple guiding principles: Recognize that every destination is someone else's home, leave places as we would like to find them, and ensure that the region and the environment also benefit from our visit.

Starting a company from scratch gives us the opportunity to plan tours and work in a way that offers sustainability in the region, while at the same time maintaining or improving environmental awareness in the country.

Our goal is to provide our visitors with a great insight into the country and culture in one day through our experience, small group sizes, professional guidance and a well-chosen program.

Our visitors should have the opportunity to get to know the people, the history and the future of the country, and thus experience an interesting, beautiful and unforgettable day trip to Panama.

And who knows, maybe it will inspire a second visit to get to know Panama, its culture and nature, even more extensively.

In this sense...

SEE YOU SOON :)

Yours sincerely, Max Pichler

As touched upon in the introduction above, I have always been drawn out into the wider world.

At the tender age of 9, I got to know the Mediterranean region through a cruise, and my interest in other countries, cultures, and languages was awakened! At 21, I then fulfilled the childhood dream sparked back then and moved to Barcelona for 3 years.

But I wanted to get to know even more of our world, so I traveled around the globe on my bicycle, which is where I met Faresa, my wife! We found our shared center of life in her home country of Panama, and together we built up "BIS BALD TOURS - A Day in Panama".

The journey that began for me in my childhood with a cruise has now beautifully come full circle here. Being able to show cruise ship guests the natural and cultural treasures of this fascinating country in the best possible way in just one day, and perhaps even sparking a desire to see more, has become our mission!

With this in mind, we are very much looking forward to your visit and say BIS BALD (SEE YOU SOON)!

I am Panamanian and come from the province of Herrera.

When I lived abroad for a while to study, I discovered many opportunities to get to know new cultures, and these experiences shaped my life.

When Max and I decided to found Bis Bald Tours, we wanted not only to showcase the beautiful features of our Panama, but also to enrich the experience of our visitors by conveying the core values of our company: commitment, punctuality, customer focus, teamwork and sustainability.

For us, every customer is unique, and therefore we strive to offer an efficient and personalized service from booking to the day of the tour, within our means. As a company and team, we are constantly working to create a safe and unforgettable experience in Panama.

I am originally from Poland, but I grew up in Hamburg.

My adventure began over 15 years ago in Panama, when I travelled through Central America as a backpacker.

Tourism has fascinated me since I was a child, and I quickly fell in love with the country, so the decision to study tourism here in Panama was very easy. Now a mother of two "Panameñas" and a huge nature lover, I can't wait to introduce you to my adopted home of Panama on your travels.

I am originally from Austria and fell in love with Panama during my first trip there in 2018.

I have been living there since 2021 and am fascinated by the diversity of flora and fauna, the rich biodiversity and the untouched areas that have been preserved despite the development of the country.

Working in tourism allows me to continually explore the country and share Panama's culture, history, and nature with visitors, creating wonderful experiences with a wide variety of people. It's very important to me that our guests feel comfortable from booking to the day of the tour, receive all the information they need, and ultimately have an unforgettable and memorable day in Panama that they will always cherish.

My parents, both from Ukraine, emigrated to Germany in 1989. I was born in East Germany and grew up in Erding, Bavaria, after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In 2013, I came to Panama for two months to learn Spanish and enjoy the tropical climate and beaches. I quickly fell in love with the country and decided to stay. Panama is manageable and relaxed – you can get from A to B quickly. For example, you can lie on a Pacific beach in the morning and be swimming in the Caribbean after just an hour and a half's drive.

Since I started working as a tour guide for BisBald, I feel even more connected to Panama's history and culture. I enjoy every tour with our guests and see every scene through their eyes – as if I were here for the first time.

Panama is now the fourth country I've lived in. My journey has taken me through different cultures and languages, repeatedly showing me how much connects us as human beings despite all our differences.

Since 2013, Panama has been my home, together with my Panamanian family. Here I've discovered not only a new country, but also a special zest for life. The warmth with which one is welcomed here is truly special. Every day I meet people who show me with open smiles how welcome I am in Panama.

This is exactly the feeling I want to share with you. That's why it's so important to me – and to the entire team at BIS BALD TOURS – that you don't just see Panama, but truly experience it: from our first contact to your visit here. Let's spend a wonderful day together in Panama. I look forward to meeting you!

I originally come from Cologne.

I came to Panama in 1983, where my parents emigrated. Five years later, I returned to Germany, finished my schooling and vocational training (metalworker, vehicle builder), and lived in Koblenz for 17 years. But my heart always belonged to Panama, so in 2007 I decided to come back.

I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of the country, so I decided to work in tourism.

I am already very much looking forward to sharing my knowledge about Panama with you.
