T1 : Old Town Tour, Amador Causeway and Panama Canal
We offer our day tours in smaller groups, specially tailored for German-speaking or English-speaking cruise ship guests.
On our highly popular City Tour + Panama Canal (T1), you will be picked up directly inside the port area of Colon2000. Afterwards, we drive out through Colon and once straight across the Isthmus of Panama all the way to Panama City.
In the morning, we take the highway directly to the Amador Causeway, a land bridge created using excavated material from the Panama Canal. Arriving at the second ocean of your round trip, the Pacific, we will enjoy the best overview of Panama City's breathtaking skyline from there during a beautiful photo stop.
Next, we head into Panama's historic old town, known as Casco Viejo or Casco Antiguo. There, we will embark on a leisurely and interesting walking tour through the impressive old town, where there will also be plenty of time for you to spend as you wish. Whether browsing through the local artisan crafts (Artesania), enjoying a local beer, or sipping a refreshing cocktail—no wish should remain unfulfilled. After wrapping up our walking tour in the old town around lunchtime, we will make our way back toward Colon to introduce you to the wonderful visitor experience at the new lock chambers in the Agua Clara Visitor Center.
In addition to the fascinating surrounding nature (where, with a bit of luck, you might even see sloths or coatis), a second, additional viewing terrace has been built there very close to the locks. Furthermore, in the afternoon, there is an extremely high probability of observing massive ocean giants right inside the new lock chambers. On top of that, the admission costs will not increase for you!
To conclude our day trip, crossing the 75-meter-high Atlantic Bridge near Colon, which newly opened in 2018, offers another real highlight. From here, you get a beautiful view of the open Atlantic on one side and the Gatun & Agua Clara lock chambers on the other!
Punctually, safely, and with plenty of buffer time, we will then return to your nearby ship at the port of Colon. The excursion has a total duration of approximately 7.5 hours, or is optimally adjusted according to the available docking time of your ship!

$110 p.p. for 13 to max. 19 participants Children from 0-2 years are free. From 3-12 years, the rate is only $60 for the tour, regardless of the final number of participants. (See below for the reduced admission fee at Agua Clara)

Due to supply chain difficulties at Hard Rock Cafe Panama, we are unfortunately unable to offer this service for the time being this year. A stop at these locations is unfortunately not possible due to their inconvenient location and time constraints.
You will be informed of the current price based on the number of participants shortly before departure, or at the latest on the day of your tour. You are therefore very welcome to recommend this tour so that other Mein Schiff & AIDA guests can find out about our excursion, making the tour cheaper for everyone... :)
We do not require a complicated deposit or any cancellation fees. Instead, we rely on your reliability, punctuality, and the earliest possible notification if, for any reason, you are unable to participate in the tour.
